Pat McGrath Wild Orchid & Pink Desire LiquiLUST Matte Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches

Wild Orchid

Pat McGrath Wild Orchid LiquiLUST Matte LipstickPat McGrath Wild Orchid LiquiLUST Matte Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a brighter, medium plum with subtle, cool undertones and a flat, matte finish. The texture was smooth, fluid, and airy without being too runny or too thick, so I was able to maneuver it around the edges of my lips.

While it was quick to dry down to a transfer-resistant matte finish that still felt somewhat flexible on my lips, there was some product that dried down into my lip lines. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which stained my lips and lasted for over six hours on me.

Formula Overview

$30.00/0.17 oz. – $176.47 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have opaque coverage in a “single swipe” that feels “lightweight” and leaves lips looking “smooth.” The formula was opaque in a single layer, and the product applied fairly evenly and smoothly to my lips, but it didn’t always dry down in the most flattering way. Sometimes, the set result emphasized my lip lines.

The texture was lightweight, creamy, and more fluid–but not heavy–so there was more product on the doe-foot applicator that I found was needed for one application. I noticed that the product seemed to soften and look smoother as I wore it, which was nice as it had a nice, gradual wear-down that was more and more flattering rather than wearing off strongly around the center of my lips. They lasted between five and six hours and felt lightly drying over time. I didn’t notice any scent.

Pink Desire

Pat McGrath Pink Desire LiquiLUST Matte LipstickPat McGrath Pink Desire LiquiLUST Matte Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.17 oz.) is a brighter, deep pink-coral with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which could be built up to full coverage with a second layer.

The consistency was smooth, fluid, and easy to work with, but it was prone to streaking along the edges and the color didn’t cover as evenly as other shades. It dried down quickly but separated along my deeper lip lines. It lasted for five hours and felt neither drying nor hydrating on me.
