Enjoying Special Days with Your Family

A few years ago, Jean and I held a special gathering on Easter Sunday. Our boys Trent and Troy were there, as were our two foster children – 8 and 10 – and a few friends and their children.

As I chatted with the adults in the living room, squeals of laughter erupted out of our kitchen. We all went to investigate and found Jean sitting on the floor covered by Easter grass, and surrounded by dozens of plastic Easter eggs, all opened and the contents strewn across the floor. Jean was laughing, and the children were dancing in the mess. It was beautiful, playful chaos.

When it comes to birthdays, holidays, and other special occasions, you may be wondering what kind of thought and preparation should go into making them both meaningful and enjoyable for your whole family?

On our Focus on the Family Broadcast “Enjoying Special Days with Your Family,” our guest Becky Kiser is sharing how every holiday throughout the year can become an opportunity to draw yourself and your family closer to each other and to God.

It’s easy for special days to lose their significance when we’re lost in the pressure of creating a Pinterest/Instagram-worthy celebration. Becky will help you fix your mind on what’s most important in a way that changes your perspective and enables you to handle the highs and lows of planning your special occasion.

We’re speaking with Becky about her book Sacred Holidays: Less Chaos, More Jesus, which is available for a gift of any amount. For more information, visit our website.
