ColourPop Red Pocket, Lion Dance, Lucky Charm Lippie Stix Reviews & Swatches

Red Pocket

ColourPop Red Pocket Lippie Stix ($7.00 for 0.0352 oz.) is a bright, medium red with neutral-to-warm undertones paired with a matte finish. It had a “blur” finish, which is actually intended to have medium coverage, though this shade had nearly opaque pigmentation in one layer.

The consistency felt more velvety, lightweight, and thin, which made it more prone to emphasizing lip texture, so you’ll want to exfoliate prior to applying. It lasted nicely for four and a half hours, left a faint stain behind, and felt neither drying nor hydrating.

Formula Overview

$7.00/0.0352 oz. – $198.86 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have “full coverage” with a “long-wearing, ultra comfortable” feel. Because there are quite a few finishes in the range, some of the results depend more on the finish.

The matte finish tends to be thinner, drier, and firmer in the tube, and they can, occasionally, tug on my lips noticeably during application, but usually have good pigmentation and long wear; they range from non-drying to somewhat drying.

The Creme finish has a creamier, more emollient quality to it that has excellent pigmentation, comfortable wear, and good wear time (four to six hours); it tends to be a little hydrating but occasionally suffers from issues where product gathers in lip lines or they don’t go on as evenly as they could. There’s a soft, sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Lion Dance

ColourPop Lion Dance Lippie Stix ($7.00 for 0.0352 oz.) is a deep, coppery red with subtle, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had medium color coverage, which was as described for this particular finish (“blur”). T

he texture was moderately firm/dense in the tube but had light glide that enabled the product to apply comfortably across my lips. The formula was more prone to emphasizing my natural lip textures, so it could have applied better. It wore well for three and a half hours and felt non-drying.

Lucky Charm

ColourPop Lucky Charm Lippie Stix ($7.00 for 0.0352 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark red with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff in one layer, though it was supposed to have medium coverage based on the description. The texture felt more velvety with a silicone-like slip to it, so it didn’t feel conventionally creamy or emollient going on.

It was very lightweight, slightly thinner, but it was more flattering to wear than other shades with the same finish. It stayed on well for four hours and felt neither drying nor hydrating over time.
